Nice Trip See You Next Fall

Nice Trip See You Next Fall

I just randomly tripped up the escalator. It occurred so fast I’m not even sure what happened. My foot hit the edge of the stairs  and next thing I know I’m falling forward and extending my hand out in front of me. I would like to think I played it off well and no-one noticed.  Looks like my Tuesday is off to a splendid start!

Halloween in Tokyo

Halloween in Tokyo

So I wrote this article the day after Halloween while I was at school. I went home and tried to upload it, but somehow the file was corrupted and there was no way to find a previous version on my tablet. Then, I wrote it a second time on my tablet and it also self destructed. As a result, I’ve had to start avoiding writing on my tablet. So, I apologize that writing this article for a third time has…

Happy Fourth of July…Sort of

Happy Fourth of July…Sort of

For several years I’ve had the theory that Tuesdays are the worst day of the week. How’s that? Obviously Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are okay because it’s the weekend. Monday you get to relive your weekend by telling your friends and co-workers what you did. Wendesday is hump day and Thursday is the almost weekend. But Tuesday? There is nothing good about Tuesdays. Even though I don’t work Mondays, Tuesdays are still a long day for me, and today is…

Gokiburi Update

Gokiburi Update

As I mentioned in my post earlier today, I spent the better part of the afternoon caulking and sealing crevices in my apartment. I finally got the courage to open two kitchen cabinets I had set up roach motels in. The smaller cabinet had no roaches but I put a bait station just in case. The other cabinet roach motel had some dead antennas sticking up. I swore I saw one wiggle so I sprayed them with raid to be…

Lac d’Esparron

Lac d’Esparron

My last two weekends have been pretty spectacular. In fact, they were my last two full weekends in France (the end is near my dear friends)! Here’s a summary of the last weekend in June: 27 June Beautiful Water I started off my day by going to the beach at Sausset le Pins. I go to the beach every single day so it is really hard to keep them straight and remember which beach I went to on which day,…

Fish are Friends Not Food

Fish are Friends Not Food

So, technically I didn’t go out on a date with this guy, nor is there any chance in hell that I will, but I just had to write about him. I met this guy on Friday at the flash mob. I was preparing to leave (my partner had already left to his house and I was suppose to meet him there) when one of the dancers approached me and started talking to me. He wasn’t exactly the best articulator, or…

Random Stories of the Week

Random Stories of the Week

Another week has almost flown by (seriously, where does all my time go?) and I still haven’t blogged about Dublin. I have an ever growing list of blog posts I need to write. I have a newfound admiration for people that blog full time, especially those that have travel blogs. How on earth do you manage to travel all the time and blog? Anyway, I have some stories of things that have happened this week thus far: I Want Candy…

A Few Cooking Stories

A Few Cooking Stories

Those of you that know me know that I really enjoy cooking. My host parents definitely appreciate my cooking as well. Actually, I would say they have a love/hate relationship with my cooking. They love my cooking, yet they hate it because they they’ve gained weight as a result of it. (Hey, it isn’t MY fault they serve themselves seconds). Although, they also have a lot of external stress is has led them to late-night snacking and eating more junk…

Can Anybody Find Me, Somebody to Love?

Can Anybody Find Me, Somebody to Love?

In my nearing 8 months abroad, I’ve gone on a handful of dates. I mean, I am a single, young foreigner, what’s not to love? Nothing serious, and usually nothing more than one date. Actually, I’ve had my fair share of interesting first dates here, but I choose not to blog about it because it just feels too personal. My host parents are always current on my dating life, and my poor host dad has difficulty keeping straight everyone’s names…

You Can’t Trust Everything You Hear

You Can’t Trust Everything You Hear

Yesterday, my au pair experience reached its pinnacle. I had a 10 minute argument with a four year old on whether or not his 4 year old friend was pregnant. He tried to convince me that his friend at school has a baby in her tummy because she said so. I told him maybe he misheard and it’s her mommy that has a baby in her tummy. He freaked out on me and proceeded to argue the point for at…
