Boys Will Be Boys

Boys Will Be Boys

Yesterday I taught two third year classes at a junior high school (equivalent to 9th graders). It was my first time seeing one of the classes so I gave them a brief self introduction. When I finished the class clown looked at me and said, “You’re cute.” All I could do was shake my head and give a sarcastic thanks. Hm, I just remembered that Japanese people don’t do well with sarcasm so he probably thought it was a genuine…

My company called the school and suggested incorporating new activities to their curriculum so teachers are a lot more open to games. I mean, I was tired of playing and interview game so I can only imagine the students.  My Tuesday class was with fifth graders. They have been using a new textbook geared towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics called, “Welcome to Tokyo.” Granted I don’t expect…
